Yazid was recently appointed to act as lead Counsel by Messrs Wan Ahmad Ridzuan & Co over employment dispute involving national shuttler Lee Zia Jia and Coach Indra Wijaya.
The contract of employment was signed between Lee Zia Jia Badminton Club and Coach Indra Wijaya for 3 years running up to the Paris Olympic in 2024.
The case involve pre-mature termination of the employment contract without just cause and possible compensation in lieu of such termination. Both parties has appeared before the Industrial Relations Department on 2nd March 2023 and following an unsuccessful mediation session, the case will now (pursuant to Section 8(2) of the Industrial Relations Act 2020) be automatically referred to the Industrial Court for determination.
